When I read the premise for this short story about a Duke about to commit suicide and the young widow who would do anything to save him, including enter into an illicit sexual bargain, I was instantly intrigued. There's no doubt in my mind that if you're just looking for a ton of scorching sex scenes, you'll probably love this book. However, I wanted a bit more story to go along with all the sex. The cover does state 'An Erotic Novella' which is exactly what it is and very explicit. I liked both Julian who was a tortured soul, and Cecelia who had some inner turmoil of her own, though I was a little put off by her propensity to have sex with men who were complete strangers. I also had to suspend reality at times since some parts were not too realistic and nearly had my eyes rolling. The plot had huge potential but I just got tired of all the sex and it simply missed the mark for me. Overall I thought it was okay, but if your looking for a quick read with lots and lots of sex, this is definitely the book for you!Product details

Great story and determination to have the love you wanted and was denied. The sexuality for the characters was awesome
This novella is a very steamy look into the lives of 2 lost souls that find each other as the hero is ready to throw himself off the heroine's terrace in a drunken moment of suicidal thoughts. Cecilia has been a widow for 3 years and prefers solitude to the chance of another broken heart as was dealt to her by her unloving husband. Julian has recently lost his young wife to illness. Their journey to love and passion was a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience and I highly recommend it. The sex is hot and I loved the circumstances that brought them together.
This was a great story. It's a timeless tale that is as fresh today as it was 100 years ago. I would have so enjoyed this as a full length book.
This is a wonderful read, couldn't' put it down. Loved it! Jenna Petersen is o me of my favorite erotic writers. I recommend this book to any and all readers, you will not be disappointed.
Sexiest story I ever read. If you want a little escapism from the real world read this. Sometimes it's good for the love scenes to outweigh the story (but don't worry, there is a story).
I liked this story because it held my interest and made me want to keep reading to find out if the characters would be together. However, parts of it were slightly unrealistic and the character development was weak, even for a novella. I did not remember much about it the next day. It is definitely a hot read that will keep you turning the pages, so to speak.
